Mahak Agrawal works at the intersection of cities, energy, and public policy, translating complex climate science into ideas that are genuinely useful and implementable. She currently leads the India portfolio at Riding Sunbeams, a UK-born social enterprise integrating solar energy into rail and mass transit infrastructure, where her work centers on India’s rail electrification and freight decarbonisation efforts as part of the country’s path to net zero by 2030.

Alongside this, Mahak is the founder of All Bits Count (ABC), a creative climate storytelling project she launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to make sustainability communication more accessible and less guilt-driven. Since then, ABC has grown into a recognized platform for climate storytelling, having been featured at global forums including the UN Summit of the Future and COP29. She also serves on the Steering Board of ITACUS, the international committee advancing policy and governance frameworks for the sustainable use of underground space.

Over more than a decade, Mahak has worked with organizations including the OECD, UNEP, the World Bank, and several Indian ministries on urban planning and climate policy. An unconventional entrant to the field—she began her academic path in medicine and engineering before finding her footing in urban planning—she holds an MPA from Columbia University and two gold medals in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.

Mahak brings a rare combination of technical depth, policy fluency, and storytelling instinct to conversations about how cities and infrastructure can meet the climate moment.
